Day 361 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful that we are leaving for vacation for a few days. Olivia and Olya will be out on their own in a few years so this will probably be one of our last vacations with the 4 of us!Image result for american airlines image

Day 257 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful that Olivia asked me to go out with her after she finished cosmetology school.  I have become somewhat of a hermit because my sciatica bothers me so much and it is easier to stay home. Except for doctor visits, I have rarely seen anyone in the last few months. I go to doctor visits or stay home like a hermit.  Like my new outfit in the photo below?  I was in a lot of pain, but I wanted to get out of the house so I agreed to go. I figured I could always sit in the car if it was way too painful to walk.  She got her eyebrows waxed at the nail salon, then we went to Ulta, the makeup store.   She always needs something from there.  We spent $408 but we had a $3.50 coupon!! Big savings, huh?  A whole three dollars and fifty cents off of a four hundred dollar bill! Some of the shampoos and make up were in the 90% off bin and I couldn't resist some of those items! My bill was probably about $10-$12!...

Day 116 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

        Today I am thankful that I got to visit Olya.   Dan and I took a leisurely drive up to her college to pick up some of her things. She is finished  next Thur. and we knew we couldn't fit all her stuff in one trip.  I can't believe she is almost finished her freshman year. The time just flew by. She worked hard and did well. She is taking a math class during summer session at a local campus.  Dan and I left after Olivia went to beauty school.  We took a leisurely route instead of going on the turnpike.  We stopped at a few stores and a few markets along the way.  When we got to Olya's dorm, we packed up the boxes we brought and loaded up the car. Then we went to lunch, she only had an hour before her next class so we went to Hardees, which is right near her campus.  I am so glad that Olya will be home for the summer soon! Tomorrow I have to go to the endodontist  for a root canal, not too ...

Day 119 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

        Today I got my hair cut at the salon where Olivia works.  I am thankful that I got to see her at work and meet some of her co-workers. I asked for her as my shampoo girl.  She did a great job!  Everyone there really likes her.  I met the owner and he said he enjoys having he work here  because he feels her enthusiasm  for cosmetology.  The woman who cut my hair said the same thing.  They enjoy listening to the things she tells them she is learning in cosmetology school. It's nice to see your adult kids successful! I got a great haircut, I just love it.  Of course, I almost dropped dead when I was told the price of $80.00! I gave the beautician a tip of $20 and I left a tip of $10 for Olivia. Olivia is really in her element there.  When you check out there, they give you tiny envelopes to put the tips in a basket.  There are names on wooden blocks behind the basket.  The receptionist wa...
