Today I am thankful that we are leaving for vacation for a few days. Olivia and Olya will be out on their own in a few years so this will probably be one of our last vacations with the 4 of us!
Today I am thankful for the church I belong to and worship at. It is a non-denominational Bible-based church. I always feel better after I go to church. I think that listening to the word of the Lord helps me try to live a better life. While I am in church I am a total believer. It's after I leave that I have doubts. There are so many evil and bad things that happen in the world. I hope that it is because of free choice and not because God doesn't listen to prayers. I like that the church has two huge screens at the front of the altar. Sometimes I can't see the tiny words in the Bible or the hymnal so I am thankful that the words are printed on the screens. I like that my church does kind things. At Christmas we were asked to bring coats, new or slightly used, scarves, hats and mittens and gloves. Today I am thankful for the show "The Chew." I was watching the show the other day and Carla Hall made a simple ice cream cake. I went to the store to get the ingredients the next day. I eat mangoes because of her, I had never eaten a mango before in my life! I am not really even an ice cream lover. For some reason, I just had to make this simple ice cream cake. It was so simple and really tasty. How can you go wrong with ice cream, whipped topping, nuts, chocolate syrup and peanut butter? I even added caramel to the toppings. It was tasty, but very rich! Each slice of the cake...
MORE HOLY YIKES!!!!!! Another freaking bat in the house!!!!!!!! I want to move!!! This morning I came downstairs and started washing a few bowls in the sink. Something flew up from the garbage disposal side of the sink. At first I didn't know what it was. Then I realized it was a bat!!!!! I was scared crapless!!!! I don't know if crapless is a word but it fits how I was feeling!! I took a bowl and put it over the bat and it is still sitting in the top of the garbage disposal. I don't know if it is dead or alive. I called Dan and he told me he couldn't come home so the bat is still there. I called the game warden's office and they gave me the name of a wildlife removal company. They are coming later today. I don't know if this is the same bat or I have a bat nest or colony in my house. I am scared!! I want to move!! And they are protected so they can't be exterminated. I am thankful I got so...
