Today I am thankful that we are leaving for vacation for a few days. Olivia and Olya will be out on their own in a few years so this will probably be one of our last vacations with the 4 of us!
Today I am thankful for the wonderful day we spent yesterday. We went to a restaurant to celebrate Renee and Adam's birthday with about 25 people! Adam's parents and his brother Dan and his girlfriend came. Renee and Adam and his brothers and wives/girlfriends and parents are all going on a trip to Lebanon in August. Renee is excited because she has never been there! Walid's family, Adam's father, owns a huge hospital in Lebanon. It was nice to see all of them. Renee married into a lovely family! After lunch we all went back to Renee and Adam's house for a large party. I am guessing about 50 people were at the party! There was so much food. There were trays and trays of wraps, sandwiches, fruit, and vegetables. A huge tray of sushi was demolished in an hour! I am not a sushi lover or liker so I didn't help eat any of that tray! There were so many desserts that it was difficult what to choose to...
Today I am thankful for coming home to these beautiful flowers from my friend Debbie and her family! I LOVE flowers. These flowers are breathtakingly beautiful and colorful! It was a wonderful surprise! These are the most fragrant flowers ever, they filled my kitchen with a lovely fragrance. Debbie is also a bereaved mom. We met in an online bereavement chat room the year that we both lost our teenage children, 2001. Debbie lost her 17 year old son Peter in a snowmobile accident. Debbie is so kind and sweet and compassionate and she is funny as can be! We have spent a lot of time in person too! It is nice to feel so loved. I have the best friends ever! I really do. I guess God was making up for my rotten, mentally ill mother by bringing so many wonderful friends to me. Good job God! Today I went to see m...
Today I got my hair cut at the salon where Olivia works. I am thankful that I got to see her at work and meet some of her co-workers. I asked for her as my shampoo girl. She did a great job! Everyone there really likes her. I met the owner and he said he enjoys having he work here because he feels her enthusiasm for cosmetology. The woman who cut my hair said the same thing. They enjoy listening to the things she tells them she is learning in cosmetology school. It's nice to see your adult kids successful! I got a great haircut, I just love it. Of course, I almost dropped dead when I was told the price of $80.00! I gave the beautician a tip of $20 and I left a tip of $10 for Olivia. Olivia is really in her element there. When you check out there, they give you tiny envelopes to put the tips in a basket. There are names on wooden blocks behind the basket. The receptionist wa...
