Today I am thankful that we are leaving for vacation for a few days. Olivia and Olya will be out on their own in a few years so this will probably be one of our last vacations with the 4 of us!
MORE BAT NEWS!! Yesterday another exterminator came. The day before the exterminator from Terminix told me that he saw some guano, bat feces, in my attic and they could " fix " my problem for a year contract of $1400. Today another exterminator came, he was in the attic a long time. He said he didn't see any guano in my attic. He didn't think the bats were hidden in the eaves like the Terminix guy thought because of the lack of guano! The second guy told me to find a handyman to close up an opening near my top roof siding and see if that works. If not, he said they can come back and seal up the house for $795. I think the Terminix guy just wanted me to sign a contract. The Terminix guy told me that I have mouse activity in my attic so Dan and I will buy traps tomorrow. The second guy told me that sometimes bats just fly around and fin...
Today I am thankful for the church I belong to and worship at. It is a non-denominational Bible-based church. I always feel better after I go to church. I think that listening to the word of the Lord helps me try to live a better life. While I am in church I am a total believer. It's after I leave that I have doubts. There are so many evil and bad things that happen in the world. I hope that it is because of free choice and not because God doesn't listen to prayers. I like that the church has two huge screens at the front of the altar. Sometimes I can't see the tiny words in the Bible or the hymnal so I am thankful that the words are printed on the screens. I like that my church does kind things. At Christmas we were asked to bring coats, new or slightly used, scarves, hats and mittens and gloves. The altar was piled so high with the donations that were going to be distributed to shelters and to the homeless ...
Today I am thankful that I went to see the hyperbaric chamber. My friend Jill had told me about it. It really helped her sciatica! I had called the day before and asked if I could just come in and look at it and they said yes. When I was there today, my friend Jill was in the chamber. I had no idea she would be there!! You can see outside of it because it is mostly glass on the top. I am claustrophobic so I don't know how I'll do but I am willing to give anything a try at this point. I also saw my pain management doctor today. I asked him about the hyperbaric chamber and he said it is a waste of money. I think there was a big story about Michael Jackson and a hyperbaric chamber yeas ago! I don't like the pain management doc, he is very rude. I am looking for another doctor but it is usually months when you are asking for new patient. He asked me twice if I had any degree of relief from the shot and I said no. He asked me ag...
