Day 351 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful for the gifts that arrived in the mail from my good friend Debbie L.
Debbie is also a bereaved mom and we met the year that Amy and her son Pete died. Amy was 18 and just finished her freshman year at college, Pete was 17 and a senior in high school. Debbie and her husband were given his high school graduation diploma. We actually met in a chatroom online but we have also met several times in person. She has been at all the significant events in my life since I lost my daughter and I appreciate that so much. Debbie is the best friend we both wish we never had cause to ever meet! But I love her so much, she is an amazing and thoughtful, kind friend who has helped me so much since Amy died. She even sent a stocking for the cats with a can of cat food inside. It is the cutest little stocking!!!! Her granddaughter Brielle always sends me crafts on the holidays. I can't wait to open what she sent me!
I cracked up when I saw the cat food, she certainly knew what my cats wanted for Christmas. Debbie sent a beautiful fake Poinsettia plant for Amy, we took it to Amy today at the cemetery. Debbie always remembers Amy. Our online friend Nina who started the chatroom we all met in 17 years ago recently died. We both are so sad and miss her so much. Nina was a special person and helped all of our bereaved moms online group. I am so thankful for my friendship with Debbie.
Debbie sent me this beautiful candle.
I never saw a Candlelit name candle. I just love it, I put it next to the candle with Amy's picture on it in my kitchen.
Debbie even sent a gift for Renee and Adam. Renee stopped here yesterday and I gave her the gift. She was very appreciative. I normally wouldn't have given it to her early but she and Adam will be at his family's Christmas celebration in NY where Adam's family lives. I wish they lived closer so we could all celebrate together. They are a wonderful family and I am thankful that Renee has lovely in-laws.
