Day 313 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful that my bathroom scale is finally cooperating with me!  It usually totally ignores what I say or think. I have been telling my scale that it can easily be replaced!! It finally is listening!!
I haven't felt well for a few days so my scale is now my friend.  It is usually my mortal enemy! I think I lost about 4 or 5 pounds which is so much better than gaining 5 pounds.  What a difference it makes in attitude and wearing clothes. I know it is probably a fake water loss but hey I'll take it!! If I have pancreatitis I know I have to starve myself for 4 or 5 days and only drink water.  That is NOT easy for a foodie like me.  I love food!! Even though I am nauseous, I still think about food.  How crazy is that?? I want to eat crap food even though I know it will make me feel worse.  Fortunately, my sciatica prevents me from making a lot of trips to the kitchen! So that is the good side of having sciatica.
Olivia gets her two new teeth today!  She was born without two of her adult teeth!  She wore a retainer with two fake teeth on it so it wasn't noticeable to others.  She is so excited!! It has been a long road for her.  First she had to have braces.  Then she had to get spacers put in. Then she had to get the implant screws drilled into her jawbone. My friend Kathy told me that she had an implant and it was the most painful experience of her life and she would NEVER do it again. All of it was so painful for Olivia but she has been such a  trooper. Personally I would have just worn the retainer with the two fake teeth because I am a chicken for pain. She is getting the two implant attachment teeth put on today!! Then she has one more teeth whitening appointment and her mouth is finished!!  Olivia just got home and is quite upset.  The dentist broke off part of the screw attacked to the bone in her mouth.  The dentist called the implant specialist and he is going to see Olivia tomorrow afternoon to try to replace it.  Olivia's one tooth looks fabulous, no one would be able to tell that it wasn't a normal tooth that she was born with! Then on Monday she will go back to the dentist to have her screw on the abutment fake tooth again.  Poor Olivia, she is in so much pain.
