Day 304 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!
Today I am thankful that Olivia and I made this Halloween cake together for her classmates at Cosmetology school. I baked the three layer cake and put on the icing. Olivia did the fondant and the candy eyeball decorations. I think she did a fabulous job on the fondant. It can be tricky to work with but she took her time and it came out wonderful!!I am really proud of her! I tried to make the black fondant but I couldn't get it black enough so I went to Michael's craft store and bought a container. My fondant was a hot mess, usually I make decent fondant and have never had a problem getting the colors correct. But today I just couldn't get the color right no matter how hard I tried!! I was at the point of thinking about going to buy a cake!! But after I got the fondant at Michael's, I knew Olivia could put it on correctly!! I am glad that I went and bought new fondant!
I go back to the hyperbaric chamber this afternoon!! I am determined to get rid of some of my pain! I want to exhaust all avenues of possible pain relief! I feel like a hermit. I want my social life back! I use to go out to lunch and/or dinner once a week, now I just sit home with my pain.
Olivia is just about finished with decorating the GLAM ROOM!! Dan took her to Walmart so she could buy a new trash can and a few other items for the room. She also decided to dress as Minnie Mouse today so she got a red tutu(in the children's department!!!) Olivia is skinny so she can fit in kid's clothing! She fit in a girl's size small/medium! I couldn't fit my big toe in an adult size small let alone a girl's size small!
Olivia just needs to get her pictures and photos hung on the walls and she also needs to set up her jewelry on the black jewelry holder. She has been working hard to get everything in place and organized. She painted the sparkly desk herself and she also painted the white and teal wicker chest. The wicker chest was as old chest we stored in the garage and she cleaned it up and then painted it. Everything in her GLAM ROOM coordinates so nicely!
