Day 294 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful to be home!
We took Olya and Matt out to breakfast and then headed home. Olya and Dan made the plans. We got to Olya's apartment and called her. She said they would be right out. We waited and waited wondering what was taking so long. Finally, she called us asking us where we were and we said, "right outside your apartment." They were at the restaurant waiting. Somehow Dan and Olya got mixed messages and crossed signals. We headed to the diner. They had just gotten a table when we got there, it was really crowded so it worked for us! Matt is funny. Olya always offers to share her food or for someone to try a bite of what she is eating. Amazing that someone who once had nothing is so willing to share. Olya asked Dan if he wanted to try her strawberry french toast and he said "no thank you." Then she asked me if I wanted to try a bite and I said "no thank you." As Olya was eating, Matt said, "do you want a bite Matt? Oh, no thank you Olya!" We all laughed and Olya gave him a bite!! After breakfast, they were going to Matt's house to watch the football game and have a football party with his family. I think Matt's parents like Olya a lot. They already asked her what she wanted for Christmas. They told her to send them a list. Olya and Matt's mom often text each other!
It is always wonderful to go away and have fun but it is always better to come home! Dan and I were on our way home from the campground when Renee called. Renee and Adam were in Georgia for the weekend at a wedding so she couldn't come to Dan's birthday dinner. She and Adam invited us to lunch at their country club. We dropped off the camper at home, put the perishables away and went to meet Renee and Adam. Lunch was delicious, the company was even better. Adam was staying at the club to golf after we ate so Renee came home with us. She fell asleep almost right away on the couch and Adam had to wake her up when he got to our house!
