Day 293 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful that we went camping to celebrate Dan's birthday.  We stayed at a really nice campground with Olivia and Olya.
The place was packed!  They had tons and tons of Halloween festivities for the kids. Olivia and Olya didn't want to partake in any of the adult festivities, I wanted to go to the candy scramble!!   Many families were all dressed up. They were all so cute!! On Sat. morning Olya cooked breakfast for everyone. (Always about the food!!)  Then we went shopping, both girls found lots of things for us to buy!  Afterwards we went to Ollie's, a discount store, and once again the girls found lots to buy! Then we went train watching for Dan!  I read my book and the girls read their phones!  Olya actually likes watching trains so she got out with Dan. He has some sort of walkie talkie/scanner thing that connects with trains!  Frankie drove up to the campground around 4 pm.  He gave Dan a gift card to WAWA.  Dan is at WAWA almost everyday so it was a perfect gift!Then we picked up Olya's boyfriend Matt and we went to a Japanese Steak house for dinner!! Matt is really funny!  He loves to torment Olivia and it cracks me up!!






The food was delicious and the chef was really funny!! After dinner, we went back to the campground and sang and had cake for Dan's birthday! Olya and Olivia gave Dan a letter for Father and Daughters Day.  They, along with Renee if possible, are going on a road trip to take Dan to see a Train Museum.  He loved the gift!!It was a really fun day for Dan and I am thankful that he had a nice birthday!

       Today is St Patty's Day! Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!  This isn't a holiday that we usually ceIebrate because Dan and I are not big drinkers.  I don't drink at all, maybe a sip of champagne at a wedding but that is it. Today I am thankful  that Olivia and I are going to the thrift store. I love going to thrift stores. I absolutely need nothing but I always find something there.  My youngest daughter Olya is a great thrift store shopper, she always finds new name brand clothing. I guess if you're pretty and thin, you look good in anything! My girls could wear paper bags and look good! Since it is St Patrick's Day, the thrift shop is giving 17% off of purchases. So I am sure we will come home with plenty of stuff we don't need.       Today was Joe's birthday.  When we called him we asked what my granddaughter Kaylee wanted for her birthday in April.  She will be 7. Day 363 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful that we are having a good time on our vacation in Texas!! We didn't have any set plans and just decided to do things as we had time.  Dan really wanted to visit NASA so we did that and we all enjoyed the visit.  Time just keeps moving forward in life and it is the simple things and shared moments that mean the most.  This was the MOST crowded place we went to on our trip. After Nasa we decided to head to Galveston.  We found a great place to tour.  It was called the Bishop's Palace. It was a beautiful historical house that was once owned by a very rich couple, Josephine and Walter Gresham, and later owned by the Catholic archdiocese of Galveston and became the Bishop's home.  The woodwork inside was magnificent and breathtaking!  Olivia and Olya really enjoyed touring the home.

Day 362 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful that we went on a vacation to Texas for the Winter break!  We wanted to go somewhere new and just have a relaxing and fun time together!  We went to see the George Bush Memorial and Presidential Library. The museum part was closed due to the government shut down but it was very humbling to visit the grave of George, his wife Barbara, and their daughter Robin Bush. Robin died at age 4 from leukemia.  Robin's legal name was Pauline.  There was a cop on duty, I guess to prevent vandalism or grave robbing.  The place was mobbed!  I was so surprised because the museum part was closed.  We could see his desk and his presidential limo inside the gate of the museum.  I am wondering who funds the presidential libraries and how they choose a place to erect the presidential libraries.  Bush's Presidential Library is on the grounds Texas A & M University. I know he attended there.  The girls googled some of the other presidential libraries.  Clinton&
