Day 259 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful for a noisy house! 
Olya came home from school with her boyfriend Matt.  They watched the football game with Dan and Renee. They didn't get out of bed until after 12:30 but I figured they are on their college schedule. Normally I make everyone get up by 11 at the latest! For a weekend visit, they can sleep as much as they choose. Olya vacuumed the basement because she said it was so dusty.  Apparently the dust hasn't bothered Olivia at all!
Renee was in the area hanging with her friends at a local orchard so she came and hung out for the afternoon because Adam was golfing. She hurt her foot so she sat with a bag of ice on it.  Renee starts her job at the hospital as an ER PA in two weeks so I hope her leg/foot heals by then!











 After the game, Olya and Matt worked on their homework!
I always LOVE to see that!  Olya and Matt are both good students and do their work. Olivia worked at the salon most of the day,  and then came home, and Frankie came over.  Olivia was not thrilled with her tips today! Usually she makes between $15-$20 in tips but this was a slow day.
Adam stopped here after he finished golfing at his club.
It was a nice day filled with laughter.  Olivia, Frankie, Matt, Olya, Renee, and Adam all went bowling together.  Renee had to watch because her foot hurt too much to bowl! Dan took Olivia, Frankie, Olya and Matt to some steak sandwich place in the city when they  finished bowling! Matt won two games and Adam won the last game!  Renee and Adam didn't want to go eat, they wanted to go home and relax and spend some time with Sandy!  They went to the city and all ate the HUGE steak sandwiches.  I guess the "young" burn off calories faster than we do! They have much faster metabolisms! When they got back, they played board games, Dan and I went to bed!

       Today is St Patty's Day! Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!  This isn't a holiday that we usually ceIebrate because Dan and I are not big drinkers.  I don't drink at all, maybe a sip of champagne at a wedding but that is it. Today I am thankful  that Olivia and I are going to the thrift store. I love going to thrift stores. I absolutely need nothing but I always find something there.  My youngest daughter Olya is a great thrift store shopper, she always finds new name brand clothing. I guess if you're pretty and thin, you look good in anything! My girls could wear paper bags and look good! Since it is St Patrick's Day, the thrift shop is giving 17% off of purchases. So I am sure we will come home with plenty of stuff we don't need.       Today was Joe's birthday.  When we called him we asked what my granddaughter Kaylee wanted for her birthday in April.  She will be 7. Day 363 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful that we are having a good time on our vacation in Texas!! We didn't have any set plans and just decided to do things as we had time.  Dan really wanted to visit NASA so we did that and we all enjoyed the visit.  Time just keeps moving forward in life and it is the simple things and shared moments that mean the most.  This was the MOST crowded place we went to on our trip. After Nasa we decided to head to Galveston.  We found a great place to tour.  It was called the Bishop's Palace. It was a beautiful historical house that was once owned by a very rich couple, Josephine and Walter Gresham, and later owned by the Catholic archdiocese of Galveston and became the Bishop's home.  The woodwork inside was magnificent and breathtaking!  Olivia and Olya really enjoyed touring the home.

Day 362 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful that we went on a vacation to Texas for the Winter break!  We wanted to go somewhere new and just have a relaxing and fun time together!  We went to see the George Bush Memorial and Presidential Library. The museum part was closed due to the government shut down but it was very humbling to visit the grave of George, his wife Barbara, and their daughter Robin Bush. Robin died at age 4 from leukemia.  Robin's legal name was Pauline.  There was a cop on duty, I guess to prevent vandalism or grave robbing.  The place was mobbed!  I was so surprised because the museum part was closed.  We could see his desk and his presidential limo inside the gate of the museum.  I am wondering who funds the presidential libraries and how they choose a place to erect the presidential libraries.  Bush's Presidential Library is on the grounds Texas A & M University. I know he attended there.  The girls googled some of the other presidential libraries.  Clinton&
