Day 218 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful that I am getting a cortisone shot in my hip on Wed.!  I am so excited to finally get rid of my pain.  The ortho doc told me that the good news was that I didn't have to have surgery.  At this point I would have agreed to surgery to get rid of the pain. I am getting an ultrasound guided hip injection. I can't wait to have my life back!  I have been sitting around in pain for months! My quality of life was very poor.  I barely did much other than sit on the couch! I made myself clean an hour or two everyday, partly because I am anal and partly because I was so bored!  I can't wait for Wed.

Day 288 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

        Today I am thankful that Dan and I had dinner with Olivia and Frankie.  They went to the Renaissance Faire today.  They went with two other couples and had a lot of fun! I got up at 10:30 a m and went to the cemetery with Dan.  I took the marijuana drops when I got up, smallest dose of 2.5 ml, and felt so tired.  After the cemetery I fell asleep on the couch until 6 p m. Dan thinks I should stop the marijuana drops because all I do is sleep.  When I got up, we started talking about getting Chinese food for dinner.  Dan called Olivia and Frankie to pick it up on the way home.  It was all delicious(always about the food)  I HAVE TO STOP THINKING ABOUT FOOD SO MUCH! My scale says I have to shut my big mouth from eating too much!    We got to hear about all of their fun at the fair!  Since I am sort of  housebound due to my sciatica pain, I need to live my life vicariously through others!! Day 149 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful for coming home to these beautiful flowers from my friend Debbie and her family! I LOVE flowers. These flowers are breathtakingly beautiful and colorful!     It was a wonderful surprise! These are the most fragrant flowers ever, they filled my kitchen with a lovely fragrance.  Debbie is also a bereaved mom.  We met in an online bereavement chat room the year that we both lost our teenage children, 2001. Debbie lost her 17 year old son Peter in a snowmobile accident. Debbie is so kind and sweet and compassionate and she is funny as can be!  We have spent a lot of time in person too!  It is nice to feel so loved.  I have the best friends ever!  I really do.  I guess God was making up for my rotten, mentally ill mother by bringing so many wonderful friends to me.  Good job God!          Today I went to see m...

Day 272 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful for the happy memory that Dan reminded me of.  He is away camping by himself.  His brother Larry was supposed to go with him but Larry got sick and couldn't go. In the summer they were supposed to go together but Dan got sick!! So Dan decided to go alone. He is not far from Olya's college campus so yesterday he picked her up and they went train watching and out to a Chinese buffet for dinner!!Dan has a scanner and Olya loves using the scanner for trains.  I think Olya likes to go train watching!! When Dan called me this morning, he told me that he doesn't need an alarm clock because there are chickens somewhere close by the campground that wake him up early every morning. When I was a kid, 5 and 10 cent stores like Grants and Woolworths use to sell baby ducks and chickens near Easter. I don't think any of those stores exist today! The baby chicks and ducklings were dyed pink, green, purple, orange, blue, and yellow....
