Day 202 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

 Today I am thankful that Olivia enjoyed her 21st birthday party! I had the best time with my friends!  We played Scattergories which is my favorite game.  My sister-in-law Pennie introduced me to the game many years ago! My friends are always down to play a game.  Frankie's parents came and everyone loved them!  They were so friendly and outgoing. I think that playing a game opens up conversation and makes it easier to chat and get to know people! Frankie's mom and Olivia are Dallas Cowboy fans.  His mom gave her a Cowboys backpack which she loved!!All of my favorite people, except for my friend Carol who was sick, came to the party.  Olivia keeps telling me that they are her friends too!!  Priscilla, who supposedly never played before, won the game with the most points! Olivia's cousins, boyfriend and friends came to help her celebrate!  we had so much food that we could have fed about 50 more people.  I think everyone had a good time!

     Today I am thankful for the show "The Chew."   I was watching the show the other day and Carla Hall made a simple ice cream cake.  I went to the store to get the ingredients the next day. I must have a weak mind!  When I taught at Chichester High School, I shared my room with another reading specialist.  She ate lunch while I was teaching.  She always brought the greatest stuff for lunch and weak-minded me often went and bought those things on my way home from work!  I eat mangoes because of her, I had never eaten a mango before in my life!  I am not really even an ice cream lover.  For some reason, I just had to make this simple ice cream cake. It was so simple and really tasty.  How can you go wrong with ice cream, whipped topping, nuts, chocolate syrup and peanut butter?  I even added caramel to the toppings. Day 290 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

   Today I am thankful that I went to see the hyperbaric chamber.  My friend Jill had told me about it. It really helped her sciatica!  I had called the day before and asked if I could just come in and look at it and they said yes.  When I was there today, my friend Jill was in the chamber.  I had no idea she would be there!! You can see outside of it because it is mostly glass on the top.  I am claustrophobic so I don't know how I'll do but I am willing to give anything a try at this point. I also saw my pain management doctor today.  I asked him about the hyperbaric chamber and he said it is a waste of money. I think there was a big story about Michael Jackson and a hyperbaric chamber yeas ago! I don't like the pain management doc, he is very rude.  I am looking for another doctor but it is usually months when you are asking for new patient. Day 324 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful for all that I have in my life. With the huge exception of Amy's tragic and untimely and unnecessary death, I am thankful for the life God gave me. I will never understand to my last breath why she had to die but I am very thankful for the almost 19 years she was alive and in our family. She lives in my heart forever. Amy was loved by so many. I have been married a long time to Dan, gave birth to three healthy, talented and gifted children and adopted two amazing girls who are smart,sweet, and talented. Amy always wanted to adopt so I feel like the gifts of Olivia and Olya were partly from Amy.  Olivia was read by a psychic at our bereaved parent meeting.  The psychic told Olivia that Amy said she  feels a strong connection as sisters with Olivia even though they never met in this lifetime.  Dan grew his own successful business and provided nicely for us, I taught and grew my own business as well.
