Day 192 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

HOLY YIKES AND HOLY CRAP!!!    It's a bat!!!!!
Last night I went to bed about 12:30 a.m..  Olivia's boy friend dropped her off about 11:45 and she went to bed. I finished reading a chapter in my book. After I brushed my teeth and washed my face and changed, I got in bed.  I always shut the door because I don't want the cat in my room at night.  I woke up about 1:30 and the TV was still on, I had put on the TV timer.  I always wake up to urinate during the night.  I was lying there telling myself to get up but I was sleepy and just wanted to go back to sleep. As I opened my eyes, I saw a black figure out of my peripheral vision. As I fully came awake, I realized a bat was flying around my room and it was huge! It had a wingspan of about 12 inches!! I started yelling for Dan, wondering where he was.  I finally left the room and yelled down the steps.  He was downstairs eating a popsicle! What the heck??? He said he would come up when he was done.  He got a trash bag and a sheet and went in the bedroom to try to catch it.  He wanted me to help but that wasn't going to happen!  I went in the guest room and shut the door.  A few minutes later, I checked to see if he had caught the bat.  Olivia came out of her bedroom to see what the commotion was about.  She said she thought we had an intruder in the house............yeah right, I am standing out in the open in the hallway and Dan is in the bedroom and there is an intruder in the house???  I told her we did have an intruder  but it was a thing, a bat,  not a person.
She went back to bed.  Dan hadn't seen the bat for about twenty minutes.  I think he thought I had been dreaming, but I knew I had seen it.  It was flying in circles and swooping down when I saw it.  Dan shook all of the curtains and then tuned off the lights.  I turned the lights back on and he saw the big bat flying around.  He tried catching it with the sheet but that didn't work!  He said the bat landed in the table skirt  next to a bedside table.  He finally got it by following it with a trash bag and it finally flew into the bag.  Then he came in the guest room and showed me. It was moving around in the bag! He took it outside and let it go.  Dan never wants to harm any wildlife. I am thankful he caught the bat!!!! He kept telling me that the bat was more afraid of me than I was of it.  That was NOT a true statement.!!
Logically, I know that the bat has been given a bad rap from the film industry, bats really don't attack humans unless they are sick.
Today I am also thankful that it is my last day of PT!! I don't think it really helped me at all.  My leg, sciatica, and piriformis muscle still ache and throb. I even did the exercises at home but I still did not improve.  My ortho told me to do the PT before I get a shot in my back.  I can't wait until I can get the shot.  I don't have an appointment until Aug but at least I know I will hopefully get the shot soon.

Dan and I went to furniture stores last night to look for new couches for the family room.  I didn't really find anything that was calling my name.  I am going to look online and see if I find anything.
