Day 176 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful for my book club meeting last night!  It was so much fun! My friends Jackie and Carol brought me a beautiful rose bush plant for my hospital stay!  It was totally unnecessary but totally appreciated and lovely!  We discussed  Little Fires Everywhere.  I loved the book!  I had snacks and drinks and wine, but everyone always brings food!  It is always about the food!  I think we had eight members last night.  We had a great book discussion!  And then we moved onto politics.  We all can't stand Trump! We have such great ideas and plans.  If only we could run the country!  We are all shocked that no one has tried to assassinate Trump, there are so many crazy hotheads out there! I think Trump must be well protected.
         Earlier in the day, Dan and I went to Adam and Renee's country club for brunch with Adam's parents.  I really had a nice time even though I was full from the night before and couldn't eat! We chatted and laughed for about two hours and then we left.
After stopping for a few errands, we then went to a  pretzel place and got pretzels and frozen lemonade(always about the food.....the frozen lemonade was great), we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond.  I have throw rugs, which are really bathroom rugs with rubber bottoms, in my family room in the areas with heavy walking traffic.  I throw them in the washer every few weeks and it keeps the wear and tear down on my carpets.The ones I have are getting worn so we went and bought replacement rugs.  After we got home, I hung out at the pool with Renee and Olya for a bit and then came in to get everything ready for my book club!
         Today Dan and I are going to drive to the beach to pick up Olivia from her vacation with Frankie's family.  We are going to stop at two Goodwill stores along the way to break up the trip a bit!
I have been having the worse arthritis and sciatica pain.  My friend Priscilla gave me the name of a great PT who I am going to call.  He doesn't take insurance, but I am willing to pay almost anything to get rid of the pain at this point!  I have read about this guy online and some people refer to him as a healer............well,  I need some healing!!

       Today is St Patty's Day! Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!  This isn't a holiday that we usually ceIebrate because Dan and I are not big drinkers.  I don't drink at all, maybe a sip of champagne at a wedding but that is it. Today I am thankful  that Olivia and I are going to the thrift store. I love going to thrift stores. I absolutely need nothing but I always find something there.  My youngest daughter Olya is a great thrift store shopper, she always finds new name brand clothing. I guess if you're pretty and thin, you look good in anything! My girls could wear paper bags and look good! Since it is St Patrick's Day, the thrift shop is giving 17% off of purchases. So I am sure we will come home with plenty of stuff we don't need.       Today was Joe's birthday.  When we called him we asked what my granddaughter Kaylee wanted for her birthday in April.  She will be 7. Day 363 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful that we are having a good time on our vacation in Texas!! We didn't have any set plans and just decided to do things as we had time.  Dan really wanted to visit NASA so we did that and we all enjoyed the visit.  Time just keeps moving forward in life and it is the simple things and shared moments that mean the most.  This was the MOST crowded place we went to on our trip. After Nasa we decided to head to Galveston.  We found a great place to tour.  It was called the Bishop's Palace. It was a beautiful historical house that was once owned by a very rich couple, Josephine and Walter Gresham, and later owned by the Catholic archdiocese of Galveston and became the Bishop's home.  The woodwork inside was magnificent and breathtaking!  Olivia and Olya really enjoyed touring the home.

Day 362 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

          Today I am thankful that we went on a vacation to Texas for the Winter break!  We wanted to go somewhere new and just have a relaxing and fun time together!  We went to see the George Bush Memorial and Presidential Library. The museum part was closed due to the government shut down but it was very humbling to visit the grave of George, his wife Barbara, and their daughter Robin Bush. Robin died at age 4 from leukemia.  Robin's legal name was Pauline.  There was a cop on duty, I guess to prevent vandalism or grave robbing.  The place was mobbed!  I was so surprised because the museum part was closed.  We could see his desk and his presidential limo inside the gate of the museum.  I am wondering who funds the presidential libraries and how they choose a place to erect the presidential libraries.  Bush's Presidential Library is on the grounds Texas A & M University. I know he attended there.  The girls googled some of the other presidential libraries.  Clinton&
