Day 163 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful that I had lunch with my friend Deb G. I just love being with her. There are certain people in the world who just exude goodness and she is one of them! Deb and I met at Paneras! We are both older adoptive moms so we have a lot in common!
Her beautiful, youngest daughter is graduating high school in a few days. When I told Olivia about my lunch with Deb, she said to me, "Liana is a really sweet girl, she is one of those girls who is always happy and nice." Deb will be done with homeschooling. Her older adopted daughter Arielle will be a junior in college in the Fall. I remember when she was a little girl and so cute! Still cute, of course! Arielle is studying to be a high school Biology teacher. I think it is a testament to her mother's homeschooling! Deb and I are totally honest about our kids. They are not perfect and it is so nice to hear that other kids can be challenging! I think every teenager is challenging! I have a few friends who have perfect kids and it gets tiring listening to them. I just want my girls to be happy and healthy and successful in their chosen life paths. As long as they are productive and happy, then I'm happy!
After lunch, I ran into Trader Joe's and got fruit because I really am supposed to be eating healthy until I have my gall bladder surgery. I am NOT looking forward to it, but we oldies start to fall apart after awhile! My surgery is in Aug.
I picked up Olivia after cosmetology school and got to hear all about her day at Six Flags amusement park yesterday! She got in so late last night that she went right to bed. The four of them had a great time! It rained sporadically but weather never seems to bother the young! Olivia got soaked on the last ride they went on! Of course, none of them brought dry clothes to change into. Olivia had to ride home for an hour and a half in wet clothes! I have a million blankets so I should give one to Frankie to leave in his car. Dan NEVER lets the weather deter his plans. I think that people who grow up camping know that you can't let the weather change your plans because the weather is unpredictable.
Later when I got home, I returned a phone call to my friend Deb L. I guess it was a "DEB" sort of day! My friend Deb L. is the person who hosted the lantern launch at her house. She spent a great deal of time putting together the slide show and setting it to music. I am so thankful that I have talented friends because I am not capable of doing anything like that!!
Dan and the girls and Frankie are going to see the movie Solo tonight. I am not a Star Wars fan! I hope they all enjoy the movie!!
I really like that Frankie is open to do things we invite him to go to. Olivia invited him to go to lunch with us on Father's Day and he said yes. We won't be that long so he will be home in plenty of time to have dinner with his family.
