Today I am thankful that we all went to the PSU Blue and White Game and tailgated. We were about an hour and a half away from PSU. We got up and left by 10. We were going to have pancakes but Dan forgot them so the kids had to suffer with toast, bacon, fruit and cereal. We stopped and bought eggs and pancakes for the Sunday breakfast. Olya made the eggs. We brought all disposable pans, plates, cups and silverware. We were sitting in the sun, Dan and Olivia really got burned. It is surprising because it wasn't hot, probably in the low sixties so I didn't even think to bring sunscreen. Later that evening, Dan went and got Benadryl for Olivia because she was itchy and a little swollen from her sunburn.
It was so much fun! We brought our 6 people carload, Dan's brother brought a carload of 4, Krista, Dan's niece and her husband came with their three kids and Dan's other niece, Jill, came with her son, Parker. I think there were 18 of us Fleddermans and a few friends! Dan's niece Jill went early so that her son parker could get autographs from the players.
Jill and her son Parker. They drove 7 hours to come to the game.
With the Fledderman's, it is always about the food. I think we had enough food to feed the stadium.
Larry's wife Penny and her two grandsons Greyson and Colin.
Olya and Krista's adorable daughter Ellie! Babies always love Olya!
Dan and his two brothers Larry and Bob
I am glad that Olvia and Olya have a strong connection to extended family. There is never anything wrong with having more people to love and to be loved by.
Dan and I, and his two brothers Larry and Bob, and his niece Krista and her husband are all PSU alumni. Bob's friend and his wife joined us, and his friend is also a PSU alumni. Olivia went to PSU last year and Olya and her two friends are PSU students now. We had 11 Penn Staters in our group and a few future Penn Staters. Olya will be done her freshman year in two weeks. Time really does fly! It is a lot of fun to be dressed in PSU clothing and see PSU shirts all over the place! On the way to the game, we stopped at a Sheetz to get sandwiches. Everyone, customers and cashiers, in there had on PSU clothing. A women asked me what was going on at Penn State because she said she saw so many people in PSU wear! PSU alumni, students and supporters are proud of our football team! I am thankful for the day with family and friends! WE ARE!!! PENN STATE!!!!!!!!!!
The morning of the game, Dan drove around the town we were close to because he was looking for coffee. He found a Weis market and went in there. They had lawn furniture for sale out front. He wanted to buy the swing and a hammock because they were only one hundred dollars each. The only problem was that we had no room in the car. So unless we decided to toss Olivia out of the car or tie her to the top of the car, we couldn't buy the outdoor furniture. It was a difficult decision but we decided to keep Olivia in the car! When we got home, Dan googled Weis and there was one about 20 minutes from us so we went there and purchased the items.
