Day 105 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful that I got to spend time with Olya. I really miss Olya. She is just always so calm and peaceful. When Olya was home for her Spring break, she asked Dan or I to drive her to her friends. Dan likes to drive her because he likes to spend time with her. I was wondering why she didn't ask to drive herself. Today she told us that Olivia told her that the two of them couldn't use our cars because of Olivia's car accident. The rule was for Olivia, not for Olya. And we still had been allowing Olivia to use our cars locally, especially for job interviews and signing up for Beauty School.
It was a beautiful day, the weather was great! Olya called Dan and invited him to come up to her college campus because the weather was going to be in the eighties! Dan likes to watch trains and Olya said she wanted to go with him to watch the trains!
Olya is just the sweetest child! She likes to make other people happy. Olya bought Dan the Penn State shirt he is wearing. Dan and I left home in the morning and took our time driving there. We had stopped at the liquor store the night before and picked up a bunch of empty boxes for her dishes and plates. We brought home a ton of stuff but we didn't even make a dent in the stuff we need to bring home.
We stopped at two thrift shops and got Olivia a few more things for her GLAM ROOM. Olivia couldn't go with us because she had to work and she also had an appointment with her oral surgeon to check her implants. Everything was fine with her implants. We stopped and ordered lunch at WAWA and then went to pick up Olya. She was specific about getting lunch from WAWA and not from Sheetz. Olya loves WAWA and there isn't one near her college. We drove about thirty minutes to a spot that Dan had found before because he is an avid train watcher. I didn't think there would be many trains because it was late afternoon. But we saw TWO really long trains!
Olya saw the switch move so she knew a train was coming. It is fun to "train watch" when trains actually come rolling through where you sit or stand.
I wanted to bring Olya home but we had to take her back. She is doing well in college but she has to work really hard. She says she is hoping that she gets two As, one B, and one C. The C is in Chemistry. She could have taken an easier science but she likes to challenge herself. She is taking a course this summer at a local campus. I think it's a math course but I am not really sure. We dropped Olya off at 5 and headed home.
I am also thankful that I went out to dinner with my friends who are in the dinner group!
My friend Nancy is so funny, my stomach hurt from laughing so much! She is trying to get her handicapped sister in an assisted living home. Whenever someone gives her sister something to finish or handle, she gets is done by calling Nancy!! Nancy is just too nice to say no to anyone. Nancy is so much fun to hang around because she is hysterical and she doesn't even realize how funny she truly is. I had forgotten to take Olivia and Olya's baby shower gifts to the shower. I brought them to my friend Jackie at dinner. Olivia and Olya really think that Jackie and Carol and Nancy are their friends too!
