Day 104 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful that Olivia loved her job at the salon. She said she had to work hard and was tired but really liked working there. She gets free haircuts and waxing and only has to pay $7 for coloring. We don't want her to color her hair, it is such a beautiful, warm, natural brown color. She finally has her hair with no color in it and it is long enough, I don't want her coloring it but she is almost 21 so she can do whatever she wants to with her hair. The owners are two males and they also work in the salon. One of them brings his pug bulldog and Olivia loved having the dog around. Dan drove her to work this morning and bought her breakfast at WAWA.
She was hungry at lunch time and I was having lunch out with my friend, Deb. Deb lost her son a few years ago. She is such a nice person and we like to get together and chat. My car was in the shop because I noticed one of the tire's rubber was pulling away from the rim. The car's tires were being replaced. I had Dan's car so he couldn't bring her lunch or money. So she called her best friend Dustin and he ordered lunch for her, chicken tenders and fries, and had it delivered to the salon.
I think this job is a win- win for her but will cost the rest of us!
Dan and I are going to visit Olya tomorrow! I really miss Olya! Olya and Amy were my two easiest to raise children. They both are/were sweet, responsible and nice girls. Olya has nice friends at school, a nice boyfriend, and she does all of her schoolwork. She calls us so that we know what is going on with her life. At home, Olya keeps her room neat and organized. I never have to tell her to do her wash She cleans up the kitchen after she cooks. She is such a wonderful daughter. Olya comes home on May 4th. She is taking a summer course and she'll work part-time. I think we will wait until she gets home to buy a car for the two girls to share. It will not be easy to work out a sharing schedule because Olivia will be in Cosmetology school and working Fri afternoons and Saturdays. Olya will be going to school two or three afternoons per week and she also will be working. I have a strong suspicion that I will be in the car a great deal this summer or else I will be carless. That is usually how they work out sharing the car, one of them takes their car and one of them takes Dan's or my car! Olya's boyfriend's family must like her a lot. She has only ever met his parents and his younger brother. Today she told me that his aunt and uncle bought her a shirt when they were traveling and his grandmother made her an Easter basket and they have never met her. I think his parents must like her or that wouldn't be happening. Olya is very easy to like, she is sweet and very polite. When there was a bad storm at term break and her train was cancelled, she slept at Matt's house until the trains were running the next day.
Dan and I stopped at the liquor store to get empty boxes for Olya. We want to bring home as many things as she doesn't need any more. Next weekend is the PSU Blue and White game.
We rented a cabin, Olya's boyfriend and her best friend Elise are staying in the cabin with the three of us. We'll tailgate with Dan's brother and family!
