Day 27 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

   
      I am thankful for the public library.  I went to the library yesterday and picked up a book that I had put on reserve.  The library is full of so many wonderful books, dvds, computers, etc. The best thing is that the books are free to borrow!  I just love books! If I were rich, I'd spend most of my time reading.  Books are always so much better than TV or movies. I recently read the book Plain Truth which I bought for $1 from the used book cart at the library.  I also rented the DVD for $1 after I read the book.  The movie was a poor representation of the book.  I rarely think that a movie is as good as a book that I've read.  The library also has a book club.  It is open to anyone, male or female.  I occasionally attend if I've read the book recently.  Last night I went because they were discussing Plain Truth.   The librarian runs the book club.  She is really nice. Personally, I prefer all female book clubs.
       Last month the library had a display of handmade quilts. They were magnificent.  I can't believe how much talent that some people possess!  They also display works of Art from local artists.  I know the library also has a scrabble club, I've never attended that.  And they have a preschool story time. There are so many wonderful free books, clubs, magazines, displays, dvds, cds, and information at the library.

   Today I am thankful for my daughter Olya.  We adopted Olya from Ukraine in 2009.. Olya with her bio relatives Olya with a friend at her home in Ukraine  She was ten and a half years old when we adopted her.  My friend Maggie had found her for me in Ukraine,  She knew I wanted to adopt another girl in the 10-11 year old age range. Olivia was driving me crazy, she always wanted to be doing something. She really wanted a sibling!  I told Dan that we needed to adopt another girl close to Olivia's age so she would have a sibling to grow up with. Dan was fine with it, I think he was excited to go back to Ukraine!   Maggie works for Frontier Horizons, a hosting organization that brings orphans to the U.S. and other countries for a cultural experience. Day 175 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

     Today I am thankful for the wonderful day we spent yesterday.  We went to a restaurant to celebrate Renee and Adam's birthday with about 25 people!   Adam's parents and his brother Dan and his girlfriend came.  Renee and Adam and his brothers and wives/girlfriends and parents are all going on a trip to Lebanon in August.  Renee is excited because she has never been there! Walid's family, Adam's father, owns a huge hospital in Lebanon. It was nice to see all of them. Renee married into a lovely family!  After lunch we all went back to Renee and Adam's house for a large party.  I am guessing about 50 people were at the party!  There was so much food.  There were trays and trays of wraps, sandwiches, fruit, and vegetables.  A huge tray of sushi was demolished in an hour!  I am not a sushi lover or liker so I didn't help eat any of that tray! Day 288 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

        Today I am thankful that Dan and I had dinner with Olivia and Frankie.  They went to the Renaissance Faire today.  They went with two other couples and had a lot of fun! I got up at 10:30 a m and went to the cemetery with Dan.  I took the marijuana drops when I got up, smallest dose of 2.5 ml, and felt so tired.  After the cemetery I fell asleep on the couch until 6 p m. Dan thinks I should stop the marijuana drops because all I do is sleep.  When I got up, we started talking about getting Chinese food for dinner.  Dan called Olivia and Frankie to pick it up on the way home.  It was all delicious(always about the food)  I HAVE TO STOP THINKING ABOUT FOOD SO MUCH! My scale says I have to shut my big mouth from eating too much!    We got to hear about all of their fun at the fair!  Since I am sort of  housebound due to my sciatica pain, I need to live my life vicariously through others!!
