Day 291 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am so thankful that I went in the hyperbaric chamber. I feel a tiny bit better. Olivia said it looks like an adult incubator and she is correct!! That is the perfect way to describe it!
I am still in a lot of pain but this is the first thing that I have had any relief using. It was weird in the chamber. Your ears feel like they do when you are flying and ascending into the sky. I had to keep swallowing and yawning to pop my ears back. The tech stays in the room the entire time. I was in the capsule about an hour and a half. It takes about 20 minutes to get it to the correct oxygen level and then it takes 10-15 minutes to decrease it at the end. I wish I could sit up in it and read. I watched TV but it was boring. I wish I could have fallen asleep!
Later in the afternoon yesterday I went to acupuncture.
The acupuncture doc was really sweet. But I felt worse after the acupuncture so I will stick with the hyperbaric chamber for awhile and see if I make more progress. I finally have some hope!!!
This morning I got up to horrendous pain once again. I wonder if the effects of the hyperbaric chamber don't last long. The doc told me that the chamber works for 2/3 of the people who use it. I hope I am in the 2/3 part. I usually always fall out of the norm for some reason when it comes to medication or treatments. My friend Jill still goes for treatments even though she is pain free. I would definitely be willing to keep going if my pain subsided.
