Day 287 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

         Today I am thankful that it was a lazy Sat.!  I didn't fall asleep until about 2 a m so I slept in until 10:30 a m.  The marijuana makes me feel like I haven't slept much. I am still in so much pain.
I would like to nap all day long which is not very productive!! I was so hoping that the marijuana drops would be the answer for my pain.  It is not!!! It is just making me so hungry and so sleepy! I did absolutely nothing productive the entire day.  I remembered that I folded wash so I did do that one thing!
           I wanted to burn more of the garden clippings and tree branches.  We still have 3 HUGE piles left to burn.  I just can't walk down the hill to do it today. I will try to burn on Sunday morning or afternoon.  I just do a small pile and add to it so that it doesn't get too big.
           Dan and Olivia have been working on the GLAM ROOM!! They hung four flush mount ceiling lights today.  Dan doesn't like how they look so he is going to move them around.  Olivia is fine with how they look!
         On Friday night Dan and Olivia went for a ride, they like to drive around the city.  I was home alone and my friend called me.  Somehow we got on the subject of 90 Day Fiance!  She also loves the show! I didn't know that!! Lots of people won't admit they like the show!! We had so much fun chatting about the couples.  She looked up stuff online so that we would know their current relationship status.  I am thankful that we chatted about the show and the couples, it was so much fun! You just wonder what people are thinking when they start a relationship with people in a foreign country!!!

                 MORE BAT NEWS!!   Yesterday another exterminator came.  The day before the exterminator from Terminix told me that he saw some guano, bat feces, in my attic and they could " fix " my problem for a year contract of $1400.  Today another exterminator came, he was in the attic a long time.  He said he didn't see any guano in my attic.  He didn't think the bats were hidden in the eaves like the Terminix guy thought because of the lack of guano! The second guy told me to find a handyman to close up an opening near my top roof siding and see if that works.  If not, he said they can come back and seal up the house for $795.  I think the Terminix guy just wanted me to sign a contract. Day 6 of Being Thankful

   Today I am thankful for my daughter Olya.  We adopted Olya from Ukraine in 2009.. Olya with her bio relatives Olya with a friend at her home in Ukraine  She was ten and a half years old when we adopted her.  My friend Maggie had found her for me in Ukraine,  She knew I wanted to adopt another girl in the 10-11 year old age range. Olivia was driving me crazy, she always wanted to be doing something. She really wanted a sibling!  I told Dan that we needed to adopt another girl close to Olivia's age so she would have a sibling to grow up with. Dan was fine with it, I think he was excited to go back to Ukraine!   Maggie works for Frontier Horizons, a hosting organization that brings orphans to the U.S. and other countries for a cultural experience. Maggie visits orphanages and selects children for hosting. They try to select children who are available for adoption but that isn't always the case.   It really is a pre-adoption...

Day 175 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

     Today I am thankful for the wonderful day we spent yesterday.  We went to a restaurant to celebrate Renee and Adam's birthday with about 25 people!   Adam's parents and his brother Dan and his girlfriend came.  Renee and Adam and his brothers and wives/girlfriends and parents are all going on a trip to Lebanon in August.  Renee is excited because she has never been there! Walid's family, Adam's father, owns a huge hospital in Lebanon. It was nice to see all of them. Renee married into a lovely family!  After lunch we all went back to Renee and Adam's house for a large party.  I am guessing about 50 people were at the party!  There was so much food.  There were trays and trays of wraps, sandwiches, fruit, and vegetables.  A huge tray of sushi was demolished in an hour!  I am not a sushi lover or liker so I didn't help eat any of that tray!
