Day 256 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful for the pain management specialist I saw!  I didn't read many good reviews online about her so I was a bit worried.  However, she turned out to be great so far! I am going to get an epidural block and they can put me out for it! The head doctor is going to do my injection because she doesn't do it in the local area and I don't want to travel too far. So that worked out even better for me.  I read great reviews about the head doc!  I am so thankful because today was an especially painful day.  I had to park and walk pretty far to the building the practice was in. I am also going to acupuncture with Renee on Friday this week! She did all of the work looking up reviews and finding a reasonably priced place for us to go! If that works, I'll forget about the shot but I don't have much faith in acupuncture.
I am also so thankful that my bereaved moms group met today.  I was late due to my doctor appointment. There were only four of us that attended the meeting.  There are six of us, (aka The Twigs) who have been together since the group formed and we are all close. There are a few other members that attend now and then,  Usually most of the Twigs show up. I just love all of them! We have all lost beloved children.  In a perfect  world, we would never have had a reason to meet.  But since our tragedies happened, it is nice to bond with truly wonderful women who get what it is like to be without a beloved child forever. Today was just a sort of catch up from the summer chat.  We are going to donate some of our dues to a woman's shelter group. We are going to buy underwear and clothes for the women and children.  Nancy, our treasurer, told us where she hides our dues money in case anything ever happens to her.  We have $250 in dues because we had a bunch left over from our butterfly launch. I told Nancy if something ever does happen to her, we'll tell her husband Bruce that we had about $5,000 saved in dues and we'll take it in cash!!!
We are planning a trip to Longwood Gardens.

I told them I wasn't sure I could go due to my sciatica and they all said they would push me in a wheelchair! I hope the epidural block works by then and my pain is gone because I can barely walk now.

We also talked about staying overnight in NY city to watch the New Years Eve ball drop on Times Square!  That plan would be for 2019, all of the hotels are booked for this year!!
I always prepare food for Olivia after school because she is hungry.  She never eats snack foods like chips or cookies, she wants what she refers to as real food!  So I hard boiled a few eggs for her and washed tomatoes and leeks and peeled garlic and left them on the cutting board for her because I couldn't stand long enough to slice and dice the ingredients!
Olivia knew I was in a lot of pain today so she made dinner for us.  She made delicious tuna salad and served me and did the clean-up.  I took a pain pill this afternoon and slept two hours so I will be up for a LONG time tonight! I am thankful to have such a wonderful and thoughtful daughter.
