Day 245 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful that I am going to see my friend Joni's new house.  She loves it!
They moved to a new house a few weeks ago, I think it is the perfect size.  It is a cape cod, I think. It has a master bedrooms suite on the first floor.  I would just love that!  Joni said it is small, but cozy.  To me, that is a positive, it means less to clean and less to mess up!  There are two bedrooms and another full bath upstairs.  Their teenage son lives upstairs in his own suite! When he moves out, they could probably rent it to a college student or a single adult.  They would just need to put on an outside door and a set of steps. I baked a fat free, sugar-free, and cholesterol-free chocolate cake to take with us.  I also bought fat free Cool Whip and strawberries, blackberries and blueberries for the topping.
We are making a concerted effort to get back to doing the GLAM ROOM!  Dan and I went and looked at carpets at Home Depot. I found one online that is perfect but they didn't carry it in the store so I will order online.  The rug is supposed to be delivered by Sept. 10th!  It's better that it will be delivered.  Olivia and I have bad backs and Dan can't carry it alone.  I am hoping I can give the delivery guy $20 to carry the rug down to the basement.
It is a  beige carpet with an ivy design in it.! It is such a basic color that it will go with almost anything! The rug has a cut and loop Ivy pattern.  I think it will look great with her other things in the room!  Her boyfriend has offered to do the ceiling! The room is paneled in a very light beige color wall.
My friend Debbie L., also a bereaved mom, can always make me laugh and can always lift my spirits.  Sadly, Debbie lost her son Pete at age 17, the same year Amy died. Debbie is the most wonderful friend that I wish I never had cause to meet. We met in a bereaved parent chatroom.  Debbie and I helped each other get through the worst time of our lives.  After she read the blog post about Amy's cat, she messaged me about her daughter Lory's pet guinea pig, Denver.   Lory, at age 10,  left a note for her dad Vinny to bury Denver and not to throw him in the garbage.  The weather was icy cold and the ground was frozen! Vinny left a note back to her that said, the ground was frozen so he had to take Denver to work to bury him.  In truth, Vinny threw Denver out the window on the NYS thruway on his way to work because like he said, the ground was frozen. At least some other animal could have made a meal of Denver. I told Dan the story, he LOL and said......"yeah, and Denver was already conveniently "defrosted" for another animal's meal!"
