Day 222 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful that my surgery is over and I am home recovering.
I am still in a lot of pain but I had no major complications and they let me go home yesterday in the late afternoon. Those hospital beds are so uncomfortable so I was thrilled to be able to sleep in my own bed last night!  The best medicine was/is an ice bag.
The stitches really hurt and the ice numbs the spots.  They had to try to get an IV in four times and finally gave up. They called in Darrell, the King of IVs,  and he could only get it in my right hand but they took it out because I had surgery on my right side eight years ago. They just left it in until they took me down to surgery.  They put one in my right hand to give me anesthesia and then they put in an IV while I was unconscious. I am thankful that I had a good doctor and kind nurses.  I am especially thankful to all my family and friends who called, messaged, texted and emailed me.  It was greatly appreciated
