Day 214 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

A BIT OF A YIKES!!!   Today I am thankful for this crazy event that happened to me!! Those of you that know me personally know that I really don't believe in psychics or psychic phenomena.  Skeptic barely describes me, I am more of a total non-believer in that stuff! I always say that I will believe when I get a handwritten note from Amy hand delivered by her.  I would like to believe but I think psychics guess a lot and do readings based on info the person gives them during the reading.  Yesterday I had an appointment with my breast surgeon.  I had breast cancer in 2010 so I have to have yearly checkups with my surgeon.  My original surgeon was a female, she was fabulous, and eventually left to go to Sloan-Kettering in NY. Then I  had the head of the practice, but he retired in Jan.  He also was a great doc and I was sad he left! I always told him that he had million dollar hands!  So yesterday I was going to meet a new doctor at the same practice.  He is the only doctor there for now, they are looking for another doc to join the team.  I saw the doctor in the hallway when I first came in.  He just smiled at me and said hello.  When I got called back into the room, I changed and waited for him to come in. He is a nice looking tall guy about in his fifties.  I had never seen him before except for the very brief encounter in the hallway. When he shook my hand, I pictured him in a white military uniform with gold buttons and medals and a military cap. It was kind of weird, it was just a fleeting picture that passed through my mind. It quickly faded and I sort of forgot about it for the time being.  He examined me and we chatted and then I went back out to the receptionist to make an appointment for next time.  She said to me, "I can't make an appointment for you for next year because the doctor still does the Navy work and we don't know what his schedule will be next year. Just call us in a few months."  YIKES!!!! There was no navy memorabilia around and I never went in or near the doctor's office, I just sat in the waiting room and the exam room.
I was shocked!  It was just the weirdest thing ever! My grandmother always said she was born "with a veil over her face"(probably part of the afterbirth or placenta) so she could tell the future. My dad always said he would believe if one of the so called psychics told him the daily number or the lottery numbers!!
Someone once told me that each of us has an aura around us and that is what psychics read.  My aura would have sadness because of Amy's death, education, marriage, children, good friends, adoption, and financial success.  We are not wealthy but we can pay our bills and have enough to pay for Olya's and Olivia's school tuition.
I belong to a few bereavement rooms.  In one of the Facebook groups, a young psychic offered to do readings for free to get practice.  Apparently she is just beginning to realize her supposed gift.  So I signed up thinking I would never hear from her.  She messaged me this morning and asked when she could read me.  We picked a date in Aug.  Then she asked me if we were in the same country.  She is in Ireland!!  I am excited to hear her voice even though I probably won't believe anything she says.  I am a "want to be" believer because I want to connect with my daughter Amy.   I have been watching the show "Seatbelt Psychic."  That guy seems pretty amazing but who knows how much info he gets ahead of time.  He says that spirits connect with symbols whatever that means.
My sciatica came back, it only gave me a small reprieve from the really bad pain, but I was thankful for the small break.  Today Olya and I are going to the mall for school clothes.  My leg really hurts but it is ok if I don't have to sit long in one spot or just stand still, that is the worst pain!  I have to keep moving or my leg just painfully throbs.
