Day 185 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful that we had a really fun July 4th celebration!
We left the campground to head home at 11:00 am. It was the only day that Olivia didn't give us a hard time about getting out of bed! It took us a few hours to pack up and fold down the camper. When we were driving home, Olivia asked if she could invite her cousin Erica for a barbecue. I said it was fine, we always love to see Erica. Later she told me that Frankie was coming too! We stopped at an Amish food stand and bought cucumbers, tomatoes, corn on the cob, and blueberries(always about the food)! We planned to stop for breakfast at a Sheetz or WAWA on the way home. The first place like that we passed was a Rutters. Olivia told us that she hates Rutters! She says it's a redneck Sheetz! We cracked up because it is the same type of place! Rutters just has more items, like fishing gear, sweatshirts, and electronics. We later found a Sheetz. Sheetz can be pricey if you add on items like onions, bacon, etc to a sandwich! Olivia's $4.99 sandwich was close to $11 with her add ons!
When we were close to home, we stopped at a supermarket to get burgers and hot dogs for the barbecue that Olivia planned! We also got apple pie, ice cream and a watermelon. She waited in the car!! What the heck?? It was her plan!! Olya always comes in to help. After shopping, while almost home, Olivia tells me that she also invited my sister and her family! I thought they were down the shore. I told her that she should have told us before we left the supermarket! It was fine because I had some frozen hamburger patties at home but Olivia didn't know that! I made Olivia slice and wash the vegetables and peel the corn for her guests! My sister laughed when I told her! She said she's glad she had an "in" with Olivia! My sciatica was really bad so my sister cooked the corn and helped clean up.
The plan had been for Dan, Erica, Olivia, Frankie and Olya to go to the local fireworks. It started to thunder in the early evening so Erica and my sister's family went home. Dan, Frankie, Olivia and Olya went and bought a few boxes of fireworks and set them off in our yard. We had a lot of fun watching them go off. Olivia and Frankie set them all off. Olivia said she hated the ones with short fuses because they were difficult to light. I said to her........Do you hate them as much as you hate Rutters? I have to find a Rutters T-shirt for her birthday!!!!!!!
