Day 157 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful that my root canal is over.  This is the first time that I had a female endodontist and she was excellent. !  She kept saying please and thank you to her assistant for the dental tools she needed.  She had such a sweet and gentle nature.   My friend Anita's daughter is entering dental school.  I think that females make patients feel calmer because they usually have a gentler disposition!
After my dental appointment, I went into the dollar store.  I purchased a metal shiny green frog stake for my garden.  I think I am adding to the garden to torment Olivia! She thinks I have too many things in my garden.
I am also thankful that my friend Deb and I are planning a lunch date.  She keeps asking me how I am doing.  It is so wonderful to have caring friends.  I haven't seen her for awhile so I am excited about that.  We will just have to go to a boring place with salads and chicken because I am on a restricted diet. Last time we went to MOD Pizza and I loved that! I am anxious to catch up with her.
I am also thankful that I got to see my friend Carol today.  She lives with my friend Jackie.  Carol is the sister of Jackie's husband, Bill.  Olivia and I went over to drop off some toys the girls bought for Jackie and Bill's new grandson. They bought him some Fisher Price cars and trucks.  It is their daughter's first baby!  Their daughter Bonnie went to school with Amy.   I picked up Olivia after Cosmetology school and we headed to Carol's house.  I had packed food  for Olivia because she never packs lunch.  In a separate baggie in the back seat, I put two chocolate brownies for Carol. I had baked them yesterday for the bereaved parent dinner and there were two left.  My brownies were perfect because I recently purchased a brownie baking pan with an insert so they get cut perfectly!
Carol LOVES sweets, she definitely has a sweet tooth.  She is thin and I don't know where she puts all of the calories!  Unbeknownst to me, Olivia had put her huge and heavy textbook on the back seat on top of the brownies!  They looked more like pancakes when I picked up the baggie!! The question was whether or not to take them in to Carol.  I figured she wouldn't really care so I took them in and we all had a laugh. Carol said......"I'll eat them anyway!" And I know she will!
I am also thankful that my friend Nancy called me today. She is an NP and very well versed in all things medical!  But the best thing about her is that she is always there when someone needs her help or support.  She is one of the nicest and  most loyal persons anyone could ever meet! Lucky me to have her as one of my best friends! Renee actually did a mental health PA rotation with Nancy!  Nancy went to the movie "Book Club" with the group on Fri. night.  I was trying to think about which character my other three friends and I would be in that group.  Nancy and I talked about it. Carol would definitely be Jane Fonda's character........wild and free! I would be Candice Bergen's character, the judge, because I am bossy.  Jackie would be Mary Steenburgen because she is so nice and a people pleaser, and Nancy would be Diane Keaton's character because she is single and is always trying to do everything she can to help and please her kids. I am thankful to have friends to joke around with.  That is one of life's greatest treasures........  meaningful friendships.
