Day 131 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful for going to Bingo with my sister last night! She had invited me on Sunday and said it was next Wed. To me, next Wed. would be May 16th. She called me at 5pm to talk about where we would meet. I said "meet for what?" She said, "I invited you to designer bag bingo and you said you wanted to go." I looked on my calendar and I had the 16th marked. She kept saying to me, "I told you next Wed." I said "you meant this coming Wed." I said "this coming Wed is not next Wed." Kathy said "yes this is the next Wed." Anyway, she had to pick me up because each one of the girls had our cars and I was carless. It's good we didn't decide to meet there because I wouldn't have shown up!! We went, Kathy won a designer bag!
And she won a Godiva chocolate bar. Me, I won nothing but I did have fun! I have usually invited Olivia and Olya to go but that would have been another $80. And they like to buy the raffle chances which would be another $30. It's nice to go without your kids sometimes. Next time I will take them because they both love Bingo!
The woman sitting next to me was there with her 3 sisters. She was very friendly and chatty! Although I never asked, I know her family history, she is one of 8 children, first 5 girls, then 3 boys. Her mother wanted 10 kids but stopped at 8 because the 3 boys were wild and wrestled each other! She has 3 adult children and recently lost her husband. The things people share?? She had known Kathy from years ago and only realized it as she was chatting with me and I told her that Kathy taught at PSU. She and Kathy exchanged business cards. And she also knew Kathy's husband quite well. It really is a small world! Before we left, she said to me, "let's sit together next year." LOL, I have trouble remembering what I am doing the next day, let alone next year!!
Olivia and I tried to give our cat a quick bath/rinse. I don't know what I was thinking!! That was his first and last bath! He is a long haired cat and he hangs in my garden and comes in the house covered in sticky mulch. The mulch is all over my house! We didn't get far. He meowed as soon as Olivia put him near the sink. He climbed/clawed up her body and across her shoulders and went down her back. He dug his nails into my forearm and I have a big gash there. The only thing that got wet was his tail, it is usually thick and bushy but it looks like a rat tail right now. It is supposed to thunderstorm tonight so we let him go outside. We're hoping that will wash some of the mulch off of him but it may make it worse! Dan picked up the cat when he came in, it didn't rain. He held the stupid cat while I ran the water where the soap was on Nittany. He dug his claws into Dan's arm and really hurt him. Dan sort of tossed him down on the kitchen counter because he was in pain from the gashes. Poor Nittany slid across the wet counter, then jumped down and ran upstairs to hide. Olivia went and got Nittany and dried him off in a towel. You'd think the cat would stay away from us but he came right back in the room with us!! Poor wet kitty!
