Day 124 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Last night Dan and I watched the E! news channel.  There was a story on about Miley Cyrus and her boyfiend Liam Hemsworth.  Dan and I started talking about the Disney show Hannah Montana which stared Miley Cyrus.  Olivia loved that show!  I remember hearing her sing the songs with her thick Russian accent, it was so cute! Olivia had Hannah Montana shirts, Hannah Montana CDs, Hannah Montana sunglasses, Hannah Montana headbands, Hannah Montana Jeans, and even  Hannah Montana sheets and pillowcase.  I think my daughter-in-law Kat bought the sheets for her. A Hannah Montana movie came out in 2009. It was only a limited showing for a limited amount of time. It was a great sales ploy because every little girl, tween and preteen girl wanted to see the movie!  Gross revenue: $169.20 million USD
It was sold out everywhere, it was crazy trying to get tickets at any time on any day. Dan was constantly on the internet checking movie theatres and everywhere it was  sold out, sold out, sold out!!  Every girl in her class was going to the Hannah Montana movie. Finally, Dan found two tickets to a midnight showing(on a school night, mind you) about an hour away.  He took Olivia and she was beyond thrilled! I remember the expression on her face when they were going to the movie. She could not contain her excitement, she was jumping up and down with a huge grin on her face.  She kept yelling, "I'M SO EXCITED!" She, with the rest of the people in the theatre,  sang along with all of the songs during the movie.  When we first adopted Olivia, she was thrilled to be with us and do anything with us. She even happily helped me clean. She picked up after herself and was always smiling and joyful  I guess it's a good thing that parents have great memories with their kids BEFORE they become teenagers so that the love for them overpowers the desire to kick them out or smack them!!!Some of Olivia's classmates thought that she looked like Miley Cyrus and she loved that!
I am so thankful for that warm, happy memory. That was when we weren't stupid yet, we didn't get stupid until Olivia was a teenager! All of a sudden, we knew nothing! And the older and wiser she got, the stupider we got.
I am so happy that Olya is home.  She is upset that she didn't do well on her Chem exam.   She works hard so it really doesn't matter to me. She did really well in her other three courses. My friend Christine's husband always says   "Cs get degrees!"
