Day 106 of 365 Days of Being Thankful
Today I am thankful for perennial plants. Once you plant them, they bloom every year. I love my gardens to have color. Annuals are much more colorful and I usually plant them in pots. This year I may just buy them potted already! Perennials are like old friends, they stick around and keep coming back! All of my perennials are starting to grow! I was afraid that some of them would die because the weather has been so cold lately. Since my shoulder injury, I really can't garden much right now. I love to see the small spots of color coming up. The rabbits eat some of my perennials but not much I can do about it. I use to do all my own trimming of bushes but this year I am paying the landscapers to do it. I especially love my purple butterfly bushes. I think I will try to catch some of the butterflies and release them at the cemetery. My hyacinths have bloomed in the front of my house. I love to watch them grow and bloom! I love the flowers but I don't like anything to do with weeding.
They bring so much color and attract so many butterflies! A lot of the plants I have planted are supposedly deer resistant but the deer in my neighborhood never got the memo!
Work on the Glam Room continues. Olivia finished painting her chest and her Glam Table. They both look fantastic! A can of spray paint can really change the look of something.
Silver sparkly table
Olivia finished her third full day at the salon, apparently this is all training and she isn't getting paid for it and can't get tips either. She said she has to train for a week and a half before she gets paid. That stinks, they are getting free labor from her. But she is happy and likes her job. She said everyone is nice to her and she enjoys the work. She also said that the salon puts robes on the clients as soon as they arrive and they also serve them wine or cold drinks.
