Day 102 of 365 Days of Being Thankful

Today I am thankful that Olivia found another job.  The salon she was hired at kept cancelling her training.  I saw an ad on Indeed, a job site, and she applied.  They called her yesterday, set up an interview for today and they hired her at the interview.  They are closed on Sundays so she will always have that day off.  They said they would work around her schedule.  She is going to be the shampoo girl and mix the hair colors and do the laundry. It is an upscale salon so I hope the clients tip the shampoo girl. I think the owners own a few salons so possibly she can work in one of them when she graduates and gets her license.

She thinks we should buy her another car right now because she has a job and starts beauty school on April 23. That is not happening right now.  We want her to prove herself first! She went to the Beauty School to sign her new contract and they increased her scholarship by $500, she got a total of $1,000 scholarship.  Less than 10 people will be in her class and that sounds perfect to me! She seems really excited and I am so glad about that.  And I hope the job works out.
Renee called us and was close by so we met her at MOD Pizza for dinner.
Last week she was at our family doctor for a check-up after her South Africa trip.  He asked her when she was graduating PA school and she told him next month.  He told her that he was having lunch on Wed. with the President of the health system he works for and he would be glad to hand him Renee's resume.  That was so nice of him!  So Renee dropped off her resume to his office and then we met her for dinner. Mod Pizza is such a great place to eat.  It is like a Subway Shop but with pizza.  You get to choose from tons of toppings for each pizza, they make it as you select the toppings.
The first time I ever went to a MOD Pizza place was with my friend Deb.  I had never even heard of them before and now there is one right near us! I think it is time for another lunch with Deb.  I have been reading this book about a woman who opened a French Restaurant in CA, the title is Coming to my Senses.  She talks about selecting the best vegetables, adding the correct spices, etc.  I just think..........give me a pizza any day! I could eat pizza, chips, and candy,  morning, noon, and night! I would never have the patience to cook French Food. I don't think I have a refined enough palate for fancy cuisine.
