Day 78 of 365 Days of being Thankful

Today is Sunday and I am thankful that my best friend Priscilla is coming over this afternoon to hang out and watch movies! I just love to hang out with her.  She came over a few weeks ago and we were supposed to watch the Sound of Music but we watched Annie instead.  Annie is one of my favorite movies! So today we are going to watch The Sound of Music.
I love all types of music but I can not sing!  I wish I could. Priscilla found a new unopened copy at a thrift store. So we will be watching a virgin copy! Priscilla is such a nice person and she is so talented.  She sews like crazy!  She goes on quilting cruises.  I never even knew there was such a thing as a quilting cruise! She said they have top of the line sewing machines on the cruise.  They sew and cruise and travel!  Priscilla reminds me of my childhood friend Leslie.  Leslie and I have known each other since I was about 11 or so.  Leslie is also extremely talented.  She is artistic and does calligraphy.  Leslie did all of the envelopes for Renee's wedding just because Leslie is a nice and generous friend.
Leslie's  Amazing  Calligraphy

The envelopes were beyond beautiful. Leslie has lots of talent that she shares with her friends. Leslie has had a difficult life but she is still always upbeat, kind, and generous.  Leslie lost her dad when she was 11  or 12 and lost her mother when she was a very young adult.  She raised her four younger siblings.
Priscilla also  loves thrift stores. At the thrift store yesterday, Olivia got two packages of new socks, new bath salts and a brand new New York sweatshirt. Olivia wears a size xsmall or small and the sweatshirt was a size XL.  She says that she likes her sweatshirts to have a lot of room in them.  I don't know if we'll even be able to see her in that sweatshirt! I bought several packages of  Reese's Valentine Candy, the candy is all from Target because the tags are still on the packages.  Did I need to buy the candy?? Absolutely not, but now I have candy for Priscilla and I( and I have enough for ten other people) to watch the movies! Dan came to the thrift store with Olivia and I.
Dan got a present for our granddaughter Gabby.  It is some type of science kit.  He opened the box to make sure all of the pieces/directions were in there and everything was new and in sealed packages. He'll give it to her at camping this summer.  We also bought six packages of new candles in case we lose power again.  They have a Christmas tree scent but when you have no electricity it doesn't matter! We burned down a lot of candles in the last power outage. We also went out looking for the Twilight Sparkle My Little Pony that my granddaughter Kaylee wants for her birthday.  Target didn't have Twilight Sparkle, they had lots of other My Little Ponies but not Twilight. I am guessing that Twilight was the star of the My Little Pony movie.  So we headed to Toys R Us and finally found Twilight Sparkle and some of Twilight's friends!
I just took out the Easter decorations for Amy's grave.  Many of the items are from my friend Debbie over the years.  We put them in the trunk of the car so we don't forget them.  We go to church and then go to the cemetery every Sunday.

We later stopped at AC Moore so I could get some Easter presents for my bereaved mom friend Debbie, her son Pete, and her granddaughter Brielle aka the craft queen! In the photo, Brielle is on the right, she is the cutest thing ever!  I am so glad that Brielle and her baby sister Paige are there to fill Debbie's broken heart with some joy. She is next to her mom and Renee is on the left.  The photo is from Renee's wedding! Some children are just born happy and joyful and Brielle is one of them.  My granddaughter Kaylee is also very joyful. Kaylee is a very funny kid.  Joe had me on speaker phone yesterday and I asked him what he did all day on his birthday.  He talked about taking the kids to the doctors, etc, and I could hear Kaylee saying "and he was playing games on his computer a lot of the day!" She is too funny! When se told me about wanting the Twilight Pony, she told me to be sure not to get the mermaid Twilight.  I  think the ponies become swimming mermaids during the movie.  When we were searching for Twilight we did find her with a mermaid tail and with legs, and we made sure to get the Twilight who was not a mermaid.
